50 Cent Trolls Jussie Smollett After Harlem Pride Performance
Fif reignited the 'Power' vs. 'Empire' rivalry over the actor's comeback set.
50 Cent rarely lets an old beef collect dust. The G-Unit boss took aim at Jussie Smollett after the former "Empire" star returned to the stage during a Harlem Pride celebration on June 27-28, performing at the "17 Shades of Pride" event on West Harlem's waterfront.
Sharing footage of the set on Instagram, 50 took a victory lap for his STARZ series "Power," which famously battled "Empire" for ratings in the mid-2010s. "See I told you POWER was the s##t," he wrote. "No you want to watch Empire. Now look this is all your fault. LOL."
Smollett's camp kept it brief. His publicist Pamela Sharp responded, per Page Six, with a measured line: "We hope he had a happy Pride." Smollett's 2021 conviction for staging a hate crime was overturned in November 2024, and he has since eased back into acting, directing and live performances.
