Big Daddy Kane Sparks a Viral Bars Challenge Before His Final Album
Conway the Machine and Jadakiss already jumped in.
Big Daddy Kane is reminding everyone how it's done. The Hip-Hop pioneer dropped a set of razor-sharp bars, then released the instrumental in 8-bar and 16-bar versions, inviting rappers around the world to record their own verses and post them — turning a single into a movement.
The challenge has already pulled in heavyweights: Conway the Machine responded with a viral clip, Jadakiss added a verse, and M.O.P. and a wave of other lyricists joined in.
Kane has said his next album will be his last, and the rollout fits the mission. As AllHipHop put it, "Big Daddy Kane isn't just making a comeback. He's creating a movement" — leaving the game the way he entered it, with bars first.
