Fuerza Regida's JOP & Jimmy Humilde Take Their Feud to Instagram
A year-old label lawsuit spilled into public view.
A simmering legal battle between Fuerza Regida and their label boss boiled over online. On Sunday (June 28), frontman Jesús Ortiz Paz (JOP) and Rancho Humilde CEO Jimmy Humilde each posted fiery messages airing nearly a year of litigation.
JOP pointed to blocked opportunities: "You deserved to see us perform at the World Cup. You deserved to listen to us on the MLB album," he wrote, adding the Spanish phrase "El que nada debe, nada teme" (he who owes nothing fears nothing). Humilde fired back that he'd invested heavily in the band, secured their masters and helped land JOP "the biggest check of your life over $50 million."
At the core: the regional-Mexican hitmakers want out of their deal, alleging withheld royalties and sabotage, while the label insists the contract can't simply be abandoned and accuses the group of unauthorized features and blocking deals with Apple Music and Live Nation.
